I hate looking at my backyard and feeling disappointed. You do too, right? It’s not supposed to be a chore to step outside. It should feel good.

I started my first garden with a trowel, a bag of potting soil, and zero idea what I was doing. You probably know that feeling.

I started gardening with a plastic trowel and hope. It broke on day three. You probably know that feeling.

I dug my own well. Not literally (I) hired someone. But I watched every step. You’re tired of your water bill climbing every summer.

I looked at my backyard and hated it. You probably did too. That patch of dirt. That sad patch of grass. That corner where the weeds win every time.

I love plucking basil straight off the plant and tossing it into pasta. You do too (or) you want to.

I hate digging through ten apps just to figure out if my tomato plant needs water. You do too.

I’ve watched too many people stare at their backyard like it’s a math test they didn’t study for. You know the feeling. Grass patchy. Patio cracked.

I’ve watched too many gardeners drown their tomatoes with well water they didn’t trust. Or worse (let) them wilt while second-guessing the pump.
